YUÈ Wins Gold with Distinction and the Most Liked Chef at The 2016 Best of the Best Culinary Awards

(Hong Kong – 22 August 2016) Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel's YUÈ has received the Gold with Distinction and the Most Liked Chef at the 2016 Best of the Best Culinary Awards in the Crab Category. For the second consecutive year, YUÈ has won the Gold with Distinction Award, the highest honour in Hong Kong’s largest culinary pageant organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. Last year’s winning dish was Chicken Pot with Figs and Preserved Lemons.

Crafted by Chef Chan Kwok Fu, the award-winning Crab with Vermicelli Duo in Clay Pot is a complicated dish hiding behind simple ingredients. First, the one-catty crab is deep fried, and then simmered in broth with vermicelli, Korean rice cake and Japanese arrowroot noodle seasoned with fermented red bean curd and black pepper. This process allows the vermicelli, rice cake and arrowroot noodle to absorb the crab’s flavour and to add different textures to the traditional crab pot. According to the chef, the most important aspect is mastering the cooking time and temperature. In addition, Chef Chan was selected unanimously by the judging panel as the Most Liked Chef in the Crab Category for his clever choice of ingredients, outstanding cooking skills and creative ideas in designing the dish.

Priced at HK$428*, Crab with Vermicelli Duo in Clay Pot^ is now available at YUÈ. In addition, YUÈ is introducing an Award-Winning Trio Menu, featuring the Crab with Vermicelli Duo, the 2015 Best of the Best Culinary Award-winning Chicken Pot with Figs and Preserved Lemons (Gold with Distinction Award in Chicken Pot Category) and the 2013 Best of the Best Culinary Award-winning Spotted Garoupa Duet (Gold Award in Seafood Category). Priced at HK$4,288* for 6 guests and HK$7,888* for 12 guests, the set menu will also include a selection of YUÈ’s finest dishes.
